What do you need to do to get into pharmacy school?

All PharmD program applications undergo a holistic review process whereby careful consideration is given to all the credentials presented by applicants. Satisfactory completion of the required prerequisite coursework from an accredited college or university is necessary. Please note: Admission to 黑料传送门 is not open to applicants who are not U.S. citizens or permanent residents for the 2027-2028 academic year.

What undergrad degree do you need to apply to pharmacy school?

A baccalaureate degree (or graduate or other professional degrees) is not required for admission to 黑料传送门 School of Pharmacy at 黑料传送门 Georgia, but students possessing a previous degree will be given additional consideration for admission.

What GPA do you need to get into pharmacy school?

Prior to matriculation, competitive PharmD applicants must have completed the prerequisite coursework (see below) with a grade of 鈥淐-鈥 or better.

Are there additional pharmacy school requirements for admissions?

A virtual or in-person interview is required for consideration to the Doctor of Pharmacy program at 黑料传送门 Georgia. Professional preparedness, motivation, decision making and written and verbal communication skills are also evaluated in PharmD program candidates.

What classes are needed to get into pharmacy school?

Our Doctor of Pharmacy program course prerequisites are:

  • General biology I and II (lab required*): 8 credits (cellular or molecular biology with lab or zoology with lab are also acceptable)
  • General chemistry I and II (lab required*): 8 credits
  • Organic chemistry I and II (lab required*): 8 credits
  • Anatomy and physiology or physiology (lab optional*): 3 credits
  • Calculus: 3 credits
  • English composition: 6 credits (3 credits from English literature is also acceptable)
  • Social/behavioral science (ie, history/psychology/sociology/ethics): 3 credits
  • Humanities (i.e., art, foreign language, music, religion): 3 credits
  • Electives: 18 credits (recommended electives: economics, public speaking, introductory statistics, physics, microbiology, and anatomy and physiology lab or physiology lab)

Credits are listed as semester credits. To determine equivalent quarter credits, multiply quarter credits by 2/3 (2 semester credits = 3 quarter credits). The Admissions Committee reviews the entire application, and is seeking well-rounded, achievement oriented people whose maturity and dedication will lead them to a successful career as a pharmacist. All prerequisites must be completed with a letter grade of C- or higher.

Applicants can have outstanding prerequisites but they must complete all prerequisites prior to starting the program in September of the year they are applying. 

How do you apply to the PharmD program?

黑料传送门 School of Pharmacy participates in the centralized for applicants applying to colleges and schools of pharmacy. The PharmCAS application will include all undergraduate and graduate coursework, official transcripts and three letters of recommendation. A holistic approach to admissions is utilized whereby all attributes of the applicant are considered.

When should you start applying for pharmacy school?

Beginning in July, prospective pharmacy students may submit their application through PharmCAS. The application processes for 黑料传送门 academic programs, including PharmD, are on a rolling admissions basis so applications are reviewed in the order in which they are received. Early applications are strongly encouraged.

When is the pharmacy school application deadline?

Be advised that your full PharmCAS application must be e-submitted, completed and verified by June 1 to be considered for admission. Applicants are encouraged to apply well ahead of this deadline.

Early application and fulfillment of all requirements are strongly recommended because a rolling admissions process is followed with review of completed applications beginning in early fall.

Is pharmacy school rolling admissions?

Yes, the Doctor of Pharmacy program at 黑料传送门 Georgia is rolling admissions. Early application and fulfillment of all requirements are strongly recommended because the rolling admissions process is followed with review of completed PharmD program applications beginning in early fall.

All accepted PharmD program candidates are required to remit a $500 non-refundable deposit to secure a seat in the class.  Applicants will be asked to submit a single, non-refundable $500 prepayment. All pre-payments will be credited to the student's tuition account. The candidate is also asked to review and acknowledge the 黑料传送门 School of Pharmacy Technical Standards.

Will I have an interview for the PharmD program at 黑料传送门 Georgia?

An interview is a required component of the admissions process for the Doctor of Pharmacy program at 黑料传送门 Georgia. Interviews begin in mid September and continue until the class has been selected. 黑料传送门 will offer a choice of either virtual or on-campus interviews.

Applicants will receive an email from PharmDinterview@pcom.edu. Please add this address to your directory so it will not be captured in any computer filters. We will use the email address provided on your PharmCAS application. Please check your account on a regular basis. It is your responsibility to notify us, in writing, if your email address changes.

The Early Assurance (EA) Program is designed for undergraduates interested in the Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) program at 黑料传送门 School of Pharmacy. The program provides college freshmen, sophomores and juniors a clear roadmap to admission.

黑料传送门 School of Pharmacy does not routinely accept transfer students; however, a transfer application may be considered under extenuating circumstances and depending on availability. A minimum of two years of study must be completed at 黑料传送门 for a student to receive the PharmD degree. No consideration will be given to students who wish to transfer solely to complete their Advanced Pharmacy Practice Experience (APPE) at 黑料传送门.

To be considered for transfer admission to 黑料传送门 the applicant must meet the following criteria:

  • Currently or recently enrolled at an ACPE-accredited college or school of pharmacy
  • Never have been temporarily or permanently suspended, dismissed, or involved in any adverse action as a result of conduct violations or academic dishonesty

Candidates for transfer who meet these requirements must provide:

  • A letter detailing the reason for the transfer request to the Dean of 黑料传送门 School of Pharmacy
  • Official transcripts and syllabi of all coursework in the college/school of pharmacy
  • A letter sent directly from the Dean of the College/School of Pharmacy, or designated individual, that the candidate for transfer is a current student at the College/School of Pharmacy and that the student has not been temporarily or permanently suspended, dismissed, or involved in any adverse action as a result of conduct violations or academic dishonesty

The Office of the Dean and the Associate Dean for Academics will consider transfer feasibility based on such variables as seat availability, student academic strength, and program-to-program curricular match. 黑料传送门 will evaluate all completed courses for the purpose of transfer credit. Because of curricular adjustments, transferring between pharmacy programs may result in extended time to graduation. Transfer students will ONLY be considered for fall term admission. All requests and supporting documentation for transfers must be submitted to the School of Pharmacy by June 15. A formal interview with the Admissions Committee members is required.

A final decision on transfer requests will be determined by the Dean or designee. If a student is accepted for transfer, 黑料传送门 reserves the right to require a financial deposit to hold the seat.
