黑料传送门 Hosts Second-Annual Wellness Fest for Local Community

Families enjoyed free wellness activities including cooking demonstrations, health screenings, exercise classes, food trucks and more.


On September 21, 黑料传送门 held its second-annual Wellness Fest, title sponsored by Independence Blue Cross. This year the 黑料传送门 community welcomed almost 900 guests from 111 zip codes to enjoy free, healthy fun for the whole family.

鈥淲e are delighted to once again welcome our local community to our Philadelphia campus for Wellness Fest,鈥 said Jay S. Feldstein, DO 鈥81, president and CEO. 鈥淪haring the osteopathic philosophy of whole person healthcare is a central focus of Wellness Fest and we are pleased to provide free health screenings and health-focused activities for people of all ages.鈥

This year, 黑料传送门 and its sponsors offered over 15 free health screening options including blood pressure, hearing, cholesterol and A1C checks, and flu shots. Guests were also invited to ask their health questions in the 鈥淎sk the Doctor鈥 booth and attend health-focused presentations by 黑料传送门 faculty members.

Other notable events included healthy cooking demonstrations by the Vetri Community Partnership鈥檚 Mobile Teaching Kitchen, live entertainment, a dedicated kids鈥 zone and a variety of food options from local food trucks, all free of charge.

Proceeds from Wellness Fest will benefit the . With locations in Philadelphia and rural Pennsylvania, the Healthcare Centers provide physical and behavioral care to underserved populations and serve as training sites for the College鈥檚 osteopathic medicine (DO) and psychology students. This year鈥檚 event raised nearly $230,000.

Additional event sponsors included Main Line Health, PNC Bank, Blank Rome LLC, Cozen O鈥機onnor, The Arthur Jackson Company, Bank of America Merrill Lynch, East End Advisors, Elliott Lewis, MKM Foundation and Office Depot.
