Wellness Fest Opens Campus up to the Community

黑料传送门 students, faculty and staff welcomed nearly 600 members of the surrounding community
from 97 different zip codes.
On September 22, 黑料传送门 held its first-ever community Wellness Fest, title sponsored by Independence Blue
Cross. 黑料传送门 students, faculty and staff welcomed nearly 600 members of the surrounding
community from 97 different zip codes to campus for a day of free food, free health
screenings and fun for the entire family.
In addition, attendees learned about healthy meals through cooking demonstrations
led by CulinArt and the Vetri Family Partnership鈥檚 Mobile Teaching Kitchen; learned
about chronic health issues such as breast cancer, obesity and more from 黑料传送门 faculty and ; and enjoyed live entertainment and a variety of meal options from local food trucks.
鈥満诹洗兔 Wellness Fest allowed us to open our campus up to the community to educate them
about the whole person approach to wellness that comprises the osteopathic philosophy,鈥
said Jay S. Feldstein, DO 鈥81, president and CEO. 鈥淲hen we focus on the health of the community, we improve health outcomes for the
individual.鈥
Proceeds raised from Wellness Fest sponsors will benefit , which provide care to underserved populations in Philadelphia and rural Pennsylvania
and serve as training sites for the College鈥檚 osteopathic medicine (DO) and psychology students. All told, this year鈥檚 event raised more than $220,000.

Next year's event will be held on Saturday, September 21, 2019.
