ϴ Celebrates 18th Annual ‘Lights of Love’

December 18, 2018

Jay Feldstein, DO, president and CEO of ϴ, presented a donation to Jim Murray, co-founder of the Philadelphia Ronald McDonald House, on behalf of the ϴ community.

The Employee Activities Group at ϴ recently hosted the 18th annual “Lights of Love” fundraiser ceremony in support of the Ronald McDonald House charity.

Each year, employees and students from ϴ purchase paper hearts, which decorate paper Christmas trees around campus. A ceremonial tree lighting also took place in the campus courtyard, with the lights on the tree representing the hearts purchased.

The event, which took place on Monday, Dec. 17, was hosted by Jay S. Feldstein, DO ’81, president and CEO of ϴ. Dr. Feldstein welcomed Jim Murray, co-founder of the Philadelphia Ronald McDonald House and former general manager of the Philadelphia Eagles, to the ceremony and presented Mr. Murray with a check for $800 on behalf of the ϴ community.

Founded in 1974, the Ronald McDonald House supports families of seriously ill children by creating a community of comfort and hope. The first Ronald McDonald House was founded in Philadelphia and this original model has been used for over 364 Houses in 64 countries worldwide.

Since “Lights of Love” began in 2001, the ϴ community has raised more than $13,000 in support of the Philadelphia Ronald McDonald House.
