Paul Lapoint, DO 鈥90, is a board-certified orthopedic surgeon at Trinity Orthopedics in Williamsville, New York, where he also serves as chairman of the Department of Orthopedics for the Catholic Health System in Buffalo. With over 28 years of experience, Dr. Lapoint contributes his extensive expertise and unwavering commitment to the advancement of orthopedic care.

An engaged and committed alumnus for more than three decades, Dr. Lapoint served as president of the from 2022 to 2024. During his tenure, he spearheaded a restructuring of the association, expanding opportunities for alumni across all 黑料传送门 programs and locations to connect and participate meaningfully. His philanthropic commitment to the College is exemplified by the establishment of the Lapoint Family Endowment for Student Wellness, a fund dedicated to supporting mental health initiatives for students.

Dr. Lapoint鈥檚 passion for education and mentorship has been a hallmark of his career. He has contributed to the training of residents and medical students through teaching roles at the New York Institute of Technology College of Osteopathic Medicine, Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine, and the University at Buffalo Jacobs School of Medicine. His dedication to medical education has earned him accolades, including the David J. Martinke, DO, Distinguished Educator Award in 2015, and the Distinguished Educator Award (2023) for 25 years of service to medical training.

Dr. Lapoint is a fellow of the American Osteopathic Academy of Orthopedics and the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons. He is an active member of the New York State Society of Orthopedic Surgeons and the American Osteopathic Association. He has held presidencies in professional organizations including the American Osteopathic Society of Sports Medicine, the St. George Medical Society, American Cancer Association, and the Baccelli Medical Society.

Dr. Lapoint earned a bachelor鈥檚 degree in mechanical engineering from Clarkson University before pursuing his doctor of osteopathic medicine degree at 黑料传送门. He completed his orthopedic surgery residency at 黑料传送门 and his fellowship in orthopedic sports medicine at Temple University.

Dr. Lapoint鈥檚 enduring contributions to the profession, his dedication to education and his unwavering support of his alma mater make him a deserving recipient of the 2025 黑料传送门 Alumni Association Certificate of Honor.
