Medical Education for Delaware Residents

The Delaware Institute of Medical Education and Research created the to provide an opportunity for Delaware residents to obtain a high-quality medical education. 黑料传送门's Philadelphia campus reserves up to 10 seats in the incoming osteopathic medicine class specifically for Delaware residents.

DIMER Eligibility Guidelines

Eligible DIMER applicants must:

  • Be legal residents of the state of Delaware;
  • Meet the premedical academic requirements of 黑料传送门;
  • Complete the Delaware residency form. The form is sent to potentially eligible candidates after the initial receipt of the 黑料传送门 application for admission through AACOMAS;
  • Have satisfactory completion of a bachelor's degree from a regionally accredited college or university. Applications from students with three years of exceptional undergraduate work completed may be considered.
  • If an applicant has completed a degree(s) from institutions outside of the United States, he/she must request an official course-by-course evaluation from (that validates equivalency to a U.S. degree).

The following criteria must be met to qualify as a Delaware resident:

  • The applicant must have their permanent address listed in Delaware.
  • The applicant must either file their own taxes (most recent tax year) in Delaware, or be claimed as an exemption on taxes by a person filing in Delaware in the most recent tax year preceding the start of undergraduate education.
  • If an applicant is registered to vote, the applicant must be registered in the state of Delaware.

After graduating from 黑料传送门, Kendal Schaetzle, DO '23, returned to her home in the state of Delaware to complete her residency in family medicine at Christiana Care. She plans to become a family medicine physician within the sports medicine field while catering to low resource areas.

ChristianaCare awarded $2.4 million to increase Delaware's workforce
