Dillon Presley joined 黑料传送门 South Georgia in March of 2024 as community outreach coordinator for the Office of Diversity and Community Relations. In this role, he actively engages in initiatives that promote diversity, equity and inclusion within the community.
A first-generation college student and graduate of Colquitt County High School, he uses his previous experience as a high school educator to reach people in underserved communities. He recently led 黑料传送门 South Georgia鈥檚 Rural Health Initiative at the Sunbelt Ag Expo in October to promote the College鈥檚 collaborative efforts in making rural health a priority.
鈥淔eedback from partner organizations was overwhelmingly positive,鈥� Presley said. 鈥淭hey highlighted the importance of addressing rural health issues and expressed gratitude for the opportunity to collaborate. This aligns with our values of respect and accountability as we seek to learn and grow from each partnership. Each partnership is so important for us because they all present us with opportunities for progress in a multitude of ways as we strive to enhance health education, equity, and access for all.鈥�
Presley plays a pivotal role in recruiting students to participate in community events and provides guidance to those who wish to create events of their own. His commitment to engaging with the student body has increased College participation and continues to foster a sense of belonging among the students, ultimately strengthening connections between the student body and the wider community.
鈥淭his position has been everything that I was hoping it would be,鈥� Presley said. 鈥淭he people, the atmosphere, the culture, the campus, I鈥檓 able to give back to where I'm from. Some of the people who coached me and I grew up with, I go to meetings with them now. It's come full circle.鈥�
In 2019, 黑料传送门, a premier osteopathic medical school established in 1899, extended its commitment to the Southeast by establishing 黑料传送门 South Georgia. An additional teaching location in Moultrie, Georgia, 黑料传送门 South Georgia offers both a full, four-year medical program leading to the Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) degree and a Master of Science in Biomedical Sciences. 黑料传送门 is a private, not-for-profit institution that trains professionals in the health and behavioral sciences fields. Joining 黑料传送门 Georgia in Suwanee in helping to meet the healthcare needs of the state, 黑料传送门 South Georgia focuses on educating physicians for the region.
