黑料传送门 Hosts Girls Inc. Eureka!

Girls Inc. Eureka! participants dress in scrubs during a 黑料传送门 lab visitOn Thursday, July 14, 黑料传送门 hosted Girls Inc. Eureka! on the Philadelphia campus. Girls Inc. Eureka! is a five-year STEM-based program for rising 8th-grade girls in the Philadelphia area. During this visit, students in the program were led by current 黑料传送门 students and staff through a day filled with activities. These activities included a tour of the 黑料传送门 anatomy lab, a networking lunch and job shadowing with 黑料传送门 professors.

鈥淲e are very happy to welcome Girls Inc. Eureka! to campus and share with them a variety of career opportunities in the field of STEM,鈥 shared Alicia Hahn-Murphy, MS, assistant director, diversity and community relations.

Eureka! works to build confidence and skills through hands-on opportunities in science, technology, engineering and math. The program also incorporates physical fitness, personal development and college and career readiness. Eureka! broadens girls鈥 academic and career interests, encourages enrollment in advanced math and science courses, promotes positive risk-taking and assists girls in developing professional networks.

Ms. Hahn-Murphy worked with the Girls Inc. Eureka! team to coordinate this event. This was the second year 黑料传送门 hosted students from the program. This event is one of several pathway programs organized by the 黑料传送门 Office of Diversity and Community Relations that aims to introduce careers in STEM-related fields to students in the area.
