黑料传送门 Hosts Community Day for Local Neighborhood

Young community members visit the CWI Community Days eventOn Sunday, August 21, 2022, 黑料传送门鈥檚 President鈥檚 Community Wellness Initiative (CWI) hosted its first annual Community Day at . The event welcomed community members for a day focused on health, wellness and back-to-school readiness.

鈥淲e are so grateful and thankful to our vendors, to our sponsors, to our staff and to the community for being a part of today鈥檚 event,鈥 shared Flo Byarms, director of 黑料传送门鈥檚 Community Wellness Initiatives via Instagram.

Over two hundred participants attended the five-hour event, including parents and children from the local community. In anticipation of the upcoming school year, back-to-school haircuts were offered by neighborhood barber Leroy鈥檚 Barbershop, and backpacks, filled with school supplies, were handed out to over eighty students. The day also included a variety of health screenings and a cooking demo. Participants also enjoyed free food, face painting, a DJ and the opportunity to engage with 黑料传送门 physicians, staff members and students.

The President鈥檚 Community Wellness Initiative plans to host similar events at the 黑料传送门 Healthcare Centers and other locations throughout Philadelphia.

About the Community Wellness Initiative

With a strong commitment to student volunteer efforts and community wellness, 黑料传送门 President and CEO Jay S. Feldstein, DO 鈥81, established the Community Wellness Initiative (CWI) to enhance the culture of holistic health and well-being on 黑料传送门鈥檚 campuses and in the communities they serve. The CWI aims to promote cross-campus collaboration in educational and health services programming and resources to support the physical, mental, nutritional and environmental wellness of the College鈥檚 communities in Philadelphia and in Suwanee and Moultrie, Georgia. Focus areas include direct patient care, health and wellness education, and clinical and community-based research.
