黑料传送门 Celebrates DO Class of 2020 Commencement

May 28, 2020

黑料传送门's Provost Kenneth Veit, DO, addresses the DO Class of 2020 and their families from a podium during the medical school's virtual graduation ceremony.

黑料传送门 recently celebrated the College's 129th commencement with an online ceremony. This year, there were 251 graduates from the Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine program.

On Tuesday, May 19, at 10 a.m., 黑料传送门 graduated 251 osteopathic physicians in the College鈥檚 129th commencement ceremony, a celebratory occasion held for the first time as an online event in the midst of an historic public health crisis. These graduates will go on to join the more than 100,000 doctors of osteopathic medicine (DOs) that are currently in practice in the US. The ceremony was simulcast on the 黑料传送门 and pages.

鈥淭he job will require flexibility, adaptability, and creativity鈥攎eaningful new ideas, approaches and discoveries,鈥 said Jay S. Feldstein, DO 鈥81, president and CEO of 黑料传送门, in his address to the graduates. 鈥淚t will be your forward-thinking leadership that will restore our nation to health. Your dedicated labor will carry us through our time of crisis. And your dream to heal will ensure that our healthcare system, post-pandemic, delivers on the unmet health and wellness needs of our society as a whole.鈥

As part of the online event, 黑料传送门 students and their families submitted short videos celebrating their accomplishment, with some including balloons and congratulatory signs. The clips were then incorporated into the program amid clapping and cheers from the virtual 鈥渃rowd.鈥 The ceremonies are on the College鈥檚 YouTube channel.

鈥淵ou are well prepared for the next step in your life鈥檚 journey,鈥 said Kenneth J. Veit, DO 鈥76, MBA, provost, senior vice president for academic affairs and dean. 鈥淣ow is a particularly difficult time in healthcare and in the world, [but] we, at the College, are confident you will be able to meet and overcome these challenges. Our best wishes and prayers go with you always.鈥
