黑料传送门 Adds New Member to Board of Trustees
November 14, 2022黑料传送门 has named William B. Swallow, DO '79, MS/FM '20, FACOFP; Captain, MC, USNR (ret.), to its Board of Trustees, effective November 9, 2022.
鈥淭he experience and depth of knowledge Dr. Swallow brings to his role on the board,
combined with his many years of loyal service as a 黑料传送门 alum, will help ensure the
College continues on a path of sustained success,鈥 said Thomas J. Gravina, chairman, 黑料传送门 Board of Trustees. 鈥淲e are very proud to welcome him to the Board.鈥
鈥淎s 黑料传送门 approaches its 125th anniversary, I look forward to taking on a new challenge
in my service to the College as a member of the Board of Trustees,鈥 said Dr. Swallow.
鈥淚 am proud to join a group of exceptionally talented individuals in stewarding the
resources of the College for continued growth and prosperity.鈥
Dr. Swallow has practiced osteopathic family medicine for 42 years while embedding himself in community service in various capacities.
As a member of the United States Naval Reserve, he retired as a Captain in the Medical
Corps, having served as a medical officer in Operation Desert Storm working in a medical
ward and casualty receiving.
Dr. Swallow holds leadership positions in many medical organizations including chairman
of the Pennsylvania State Board of Osteopathic Medicine. He is a member of the executive
committee of the board of trustees and vice president of the Pennsylvania Osteopathic
Medical Association. He is also a longtime member of the American College of Osteopathic
Family Physicians, currently serving on the Federal Legislation and Advocacy Committee
and the Medical and Professional Ethics Committee. He is the past president of the
黑料传送门 Alumni Association.
As a testament to his devotion and commitment to rural medicine, Dr. Swallow and his
wife, Elizabeth J. Swallow, established the William and Elizabeth Swallow Endowed
Fund for Rural Medicine at 黑料传送门. The $500,000 fund is available to 黑料传送门 students completing
rural medicine rotations.
A native Pennsylvanian, Dr. Swallow grew up in the Lehigh Valley. He holds a bachelor's
and a master's degree in radiological physics from Bucknell University, and a doctor of osteopathic medicine degree and a master's degree in forensic medicine from 黑料传送门.
Dr. Swallow was elected as the Alumni Representative member of the Board of Trustees
and will serve in his role through 2025.
