A Message to the ºÚÁÏ´«ËÍÃÅ Community on Anti-Asian Violence

Dear Members of the ºÚÁÏ´«ËÍÃÅ Community, 

In recent months, our country has seen a rise in violence against Asian Americans. As an institution that educates competent, caring osteopathic physicians, pharmacists, allied health professionals and behavioral scientists, we have a responsibility to the communities we serve to not just shine a light on racism and bias, but to help heal the wounds of all marginalized communities.

We know this is a challenging time for the Asian American and Pacific Islander communities. We stand with you in unequivocally denouncing these sickening and disheartening acts of violence. We must do our part to stop such acts and move purposefully and passionately toward a more just and equitable society. As health professionals, it is incumbent on us to seek out and rectify the structures of racism, ignorance and inequity in health care, and we must continue to address the racial and social disparities we see mirrored in public health.

As a reminder, counseling and mental health services are available to all ºÚÁÏ´«ËÍÃÅ students at no cost through the Office of Student Affairs, and we encourage you to make use of these resources should you need them. Similar resources are also available for all ºÚÁÏ´«ËÍÃÅ faculty and staff through .
