Koch Named President of NEDLA
November 4, 2021Douglas Koch, EdD, associate director of teaching and learning, bio-medical sciences, was recently named president of the Northeast Digital Learning Association (NEDLA).
In this role, Dr. Koch will oversee the leadership of NEDLA and will work closely
with other members to cultivate new relationships with partners and sponsors to grow
the organization and to spread its mission.
鈥淲hen I first got involved with NEDLA in 2011, I was excited about the digital learning
opportunities that were continuing to be made available to businesses and organizations.
During my time with NEDLA, I have received my master鈥檚 and doctorate with a focus
on digital learning and I鈥檓 excited to now lead this organization,鈥 shared Dr. Koch.
鈥淒uring the past two years, we鈥檝e seen the need for digital learning grow exponentially.
The pandemic has highlighted the gaps in digital and distance learning, as well as
the opportunity for success,鈥 continued Dr. Koch. 鈥淢y hope is that NEDLA can continue
to be a resource for businesses and organizations in the ever-changing landscape of
education.鈥
This appointment is a complement to Dr. Koch鈥檚 role at 黑料传送门 where he collaborates with instructors in implementing new teaching methodologies,
participates in research and scholarly projects related to teaching methodologies,
educational technologies, curricular change, assessment, DEI and other pedagogical
endeavors.
According to their website, the NEDLA is the regional chapter (Northeast and Mid-Atlantic
U.S. from Maine to Virginia) of the United States Distance Learning Association, an
established national organization, dedicated to the free exchange of ideas and information
between academic, corporate, non-profit, government and telehealth digital learning
professionals concerning the myriad of issues and technological changes in the field
of learning technologies and methodologies.
