黑料传送门 Receives Insight Into Diversity 2020 HEED Award
December 3, 2020On November 17, 黑料传送门 received the 2020
Health Professions Higher Education Excellence in Diversity (HEED) Award from INSIGHT Into Diversity magazine, the oldest and largest diversity-focused publication in higher education.
As a recipient of the annual Health Professions HEED Award 鈥 a national honor recognizing
U.S. colleges and universities that demonstrate an outstanding commitment to diversity
and inclusion 鈥 黑料传送门 will be featured, along with 45 other recipients, in the December
2020 issue of INSIGHT Into Diversity magazine. This is the sixth year 黑料传送门 has been named as a Health Professions HEED
Award recipient.
鈥淎t 黑料传送门, we are continuously focused on expanding our diversity and inclusion efforts,鈥
said Marcine Pickron-Davis, PhD, chief diversity and community relations officer. 鈥淚f 2020 has taught us anything, it鈥檚 that we must be intentional about working
towards racial equality. The 黑料传送门 community remains committed to making these positive
changes and we are honored to be recognized for our ongoing efforts.鈥
INSIGHT Into Diversity magazine selected 黑料传送门 for its myriad efforts to support diversity and inclusion
on campus. One notable achievement this year was the formation of the President's Council on Equity, Inclusion and Justice, spearheaded by Dr. Pickron-Davis. The Council brings together leaders from across
the College and aims to ensure that diversity, equity and inclusion will be fully
integrated into the overall 黑料传送门 2025 strategic plan for the College.
鈥淭he HEED Award process consists of a comprehensive and rigorous application that
includes questions relating to the recruitment and retention of students and employees鈥攁nd
best practices for both鈥攃ontinued leadership support for diversity, and other aspects
of campus diversity and inclusion,鈥 said Lenore Pearlstein, publisher of INSIGHT Into Diversity magazine. 鈥淲e take a detailed approach to reviewing each application in deciding who
will be named a HEED Award recipient. Our standards are high, and we look for institutions
where diversity and inclusion are woven into the work being done every day across
their campus.鈥
