Troncoso Appointed Chair of Osteopathic Manipulative Medicine

 Victoria A. Troncoso, DO, 黑料传送门 Georgia's new professor and chair of Osteopathic Manipulative MedicineVictoria A. Troncoso, DO, has been appointed professor and chair of Osteopathic Manipulative Medicine (OMM) at 黑料传送门 Georgia. In this position, Dr. Troncoso will oversee the OMM department and direct all aspects of the OMM educational program for students, faculty and staff, according to Andrea Mann, DO, FAAP, dean and chief academic officer of the College of Osteopathic Medicine at 黑料传送门 Georgia.

Additionally Dr. Troncoso will serve as the medical director of the , a specialty clinic at 黑料传送门 Georgia.

She said, 鈥淚 am very excited to help build an integrated curriculum as building programs is something I thrive on.鈥 She added, 鈥淚 enjoy working with students, especially those who have a passion for osteopathic medicine as that is one of my true loves.鈥

Most recently, Dr. Troncoso served as an associate professor and the chair of the Osteopathic Principles and Practice Department at AT Still University School of Osteopathic Medicine, Mesa, Arizona. She is also the founder and sole proprietor of the Osteopathic Medical Center of Scottsdale, Arizona, and holds a patent on a posture retaining back brace.

Dr. Troncoso is a member of the Arizona Osteopathic Medical Association, the American College of Osteopathic Internists, the American Osteopathic Association, the Cranial Academy and the American Academy of Osteopathy.

Originally from Florida, by way of Cuba and Puerto Rico, Dr. Troncoso is fluent in Spanish. She earned a doctorate degree in Osteopathic Medicine from Des Moines University Medicine & Health Sciences, Des Moines, Iowa. In addition, she earned a BA in Biology from the University of South Florida, Tampa, Florida, where she also completed post-graduate studies.

Dr. Troncoso is board certified in Neuromusculoskeletal Medicine and Internal Medicine. She holds advanced proficiency certification in osteopathy in the cranial field from the Cranial Academy.

The mother of two adult sons, Dr. Troncoso enjoys the outdoors, especially fishing and beach combing. She feels establishing a career in Georgia 鈥渋s a wonderful opportunity to build upon the work that鈥檚 already begun.鈥 She added, 鈥淕eorgia does not have many DOs and I would love to help introduce this beautiful medical art to the state.鈥

Dr. Mann said, 鈥淒r. Troncoso is bright, passionate, energetic and creative. As a trained internist, she is enthusiastic about integrating osteopathic medicine into our biomedical and clinical curriculum.
