DiCecco Named Chair of the Department of Physical Therapy at 黑料传送门 Georgia

Shelley DiCecco, PT, PhD, CLT-LANA, CI-CS, has been appointed chair and program director of the Department of Physical Therapy at 黑料传送门 Georgia, where she will continue to lead the charge to enhance patient-centered education and innovative clinical research. In addition to being an associate professor in the department, she has served as the interim chair since November 2024, providing leadership during a pivotal period for the program.

鈥淒r. DiCecco鈥檚 proven track record and commitment to academic integrity and quality teaching have remained unwavering, even as she has managed the complexities of program leadership and core faculty workloads,鈥 said Brian G. Mann, EDD, MS, PA-C, dean of the School of Health Professions and Sciences (SHPS) at 黑料传送门. 鈥淏eyond her administrative and teaching contributions, Dr. DiCecco has remained a productive researcher, actively supporting research initiatives across all of 黑料传送门, including student projects in multiple programs and on multiple campuses.鈥

Since joining 黑料传送门 in 2018, DiCecco has been an integral member of the physical therapy faculty, bringing specialized expertise as a certified lymphedema therapist and pelvic health specialist. She has earned recognition in both fields for her innovative treatment approaches and advanced understanding of anatomy and pathophysiology.

Dr. DiCecco earned a bachelor's degree in special education and a pre-physical therapy certificate from Clemson University in 1997, followed by a master鈥檚 degree in physical therapy from the University of St. Augustine in 2000 and a PhD in the philosophy of physical therapy from Texas Woman鈥檚 University in 2012.
