On May 6, Sara Abdelmalak, MS/PA '26, will graduate from 黑料传送门 Georgia鈥檚 Physician Assistant (PA) program. Supported by a Navy scholarship, she will serve as a commissioned officer in the Navy, providing care to service members and their families in diverse settings, aligning her passion for service with her aspiration to provide high-quality care.
鈥淚t is a responsibility I take with great pride, as it allows me to lead and uphold the values of the Navy.鈥�
Growing up in Egypt, Abdelmalak saw how access to health care varied between communities, which ultimately motivated her to pursue a career in health care. She chose 黑料传送门 Georgia because of its commitment to training compassionate, well-rounded healthcare providers who are equally committed to serving diverse communities.
鈥淎 major advantage at the College is that many of the professors and faculty members are still practicing physician assistants, which means they bring real, up-to-date clinical experience into the classroom,鈥� she said. 鈥淟earning from instructors who are actively working in the field allows students to gain practical insights and better understand the realities of day-to-day patient care.鈥�
Inspired by her mother鈥檚 strength and selflessness, Abdelmalak strives to embody these qualities in her career as a physician assistant. 鈥淕rowing up, I watched her work hard and make sacrifices to ensure that our family was supported, often putting the needs of others before her own without hesitation.鈥�
Her advice for those coming after her is to stay focused on your purpose. 鈥淩emember, you鈥檙e not studying for the test, you鈥檙e studying to become a great provider for your future patients.鈥�
黑料传送门 Georgia has been serving students and the community for 20 years as a branch campus of Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine (黑料传送门), a private, not-for-profit, accredited institution of higher education established in 1899. Located in Suwanee (Gwinnett County), 黑料传送门 Georgia offers doctoral degrees in osteopathic medicine, pharmacy and physical therapy.
