Fellowship training occurs in a variety of community-based and academic settings in diverse socio demographic locations of the Philadelphia area. Assiduous medical care and symptom management in seriously ill patients will be closely correlated with social determinants of health for each individual patient. Multidimensional patient care focuses on the physical, psychological, social and spiritual domains of serious illness. Comprehensive training for Fellows includes experiences in:

• Inpatient palliative care consultation
• Comprehensive cancer care
• Inpatient and outpatient hospice
• Pediatric consult service
• Post-acute and long-term care
• Pain management
• Opportunities for electives in various disciplines

Participation in weekly didactics, clinical learning, research and quality improvement are vital aspects of the fellow's education. The program provides training in teaching, administration and research to prepare fellows for careers as academicians, clinical educators, leaders and public health advocates.

Teaching

Fellows will participate in and lead weekly lectures in various palliative care topics for multiple learners throughout their training.

Scholarly Activity

Fellows will identify, formulate and produce an academic paper suitable for publication. This can either be a research project or a quality improvement project. In addition, they are encouraged to present at local and national conferences.

Prior to appointment in a program, fellows must have completed an American Osteopathic Association (AOA) or ACGME accredited program in family medicine, internal medicine,  physical medicine and rehabilitation or neurology; or at least three clinical years in an AOA or ACGME accredited graduate educational program in one of the following specialties: anesthesiology, emergency medicine, obstetrics and gynecology, psychiatry, radiation oncology, radiology or surgery.

Designated Osteopathic Residents

All 黑料传送门 residents/fellows will be Designated Osteopathic Residents. All must have sufficient background and/or instruction in osteopathic philosophy and techniques in manipulative medicine to prepare them to engage in the program's curriculum.

The eligibility requirements must be met before an applicant is eligible to receive an invitation to interview.

Other Information

All applicants for 黑料传送门 fellowship programs must be authorized to work in the United States.
