Clinical Student Housing

黑料传送门 offers housing stipends and additional loan funding for housing expenses during student clinical rotations.

Clinical Student Housing Funding

Students in the Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine and Master's in Physician Assistant Studies programs require non-elective clinical rotations that may take them more than 60 miles away from their main campus and/or clinical core site. In order to assist with this additional expense, 黑料传送门 helps students defray some of this expense through a clinical student housing stipend program. Students have the option to apply for additional loan funding for elective rotations that exceed the stipend and for non-elective rotations. The housing funding is provided to eligible students as a reimbursement. The student must be registered for the rotation when they apply for reimbursement.

In order to be considered for 黑料传送门's clinical student housing stipend, students must:

  • Be enrolled in a non-elective rotation that was not previously failed.
  • Be enrolled in a non-elective rotation that is located 60 miles or greater from the student's main campus or clinical core site.
  • Determine if the non-elective rotation site has free housing. Only sites without free housing are eligible for stipend funding.
  • Non-elective rotation has been completed, has started, or will start within 30 days.
  • For 黑料传送门 Georgia students: Provide documentation for housing through the Area Health Education Centers (AHEC) Program at least 60 days prior to their non-elective rotation. Students offered AHEC housing are not eligible for stipend funding.

The process for students to apply for the clinical student housing stipend is as follows:

  1. After a student has determined that free or AHEC housing is unavailable, they can then apply for the stipend funding AFTER they have incurred the housing expense.
  2. Complete the and attach required documentation including:
    1. Receipt of rent/housing.
    2. AHEC confirmation of no available housing (黑料传送门 Georgia students).
  3. Approved housing appeals will trigger a credit to the student account. A credit will generate a refund to the student for the approved amount minus any balance owed to 黑料传送门.

For non-elective clinical rotations, students will be eligible for student housing stipend funding up to, but not to exceed, $2,500 per four week rotation. Please note that the stipend is made available to students as a reimbursement. Students will only be reimbursed for the amount of the out of pocket expense paid towards housing. The stipend is capped at $2,500 for a four week rotation or as prorated below in the various examples.

  • Example 1: A two week rotation would be eligible for $1,250 ($2,500/4 * 2 weeks)
  • Example 2: A five week rotation would be eligible for $3,125 ($2,500/4 * 5 weeks)
  • Example 3: A six week rotation would be eligible for $3,750 ($2,500/4 * 6 weeks)

If the non-elective expense exceeds the clinical housing stipend, the student will be informed that they can apply for additional Federal student loan funding to cover the remaining difference. All loan funding must be repaid by the student after leaving 黑料传送门 as part of their federal loan repayment plan.

Clinical Student Housing Assistance

黑料传送门's housing coordinators serve to connect eligible students with clinical student housing opportunities. We share information on where previous students have been housed during rotation periods. The final decision on where to live is ultimately up to each student.

The housing options shared are not affiliated with or endorsed by the College, and it is each student's responsibility to evaluate and choose what best suits their needs. The housing coordinators can assist with any housing-related questions or concerns as well as connect students with additional campus resources when necessary.

Please be aware that some rotation sites may offer housing. This should be your first choice over applying for the stipend above. for FAQs and additional housing resources.
