黑料传送门 Installs Jay S. Feldstein as Eighth President and CEO

September 21, 2015

黑料传送门 formally installed Jay S. Feldstein, DO '81, as the College鈥檚 eighth president and CEO in an Inauguration ceremony on Thursday, Sept. 17. Dr. Feldstein assumed the presidency on July 1, 2014, succeeding Matthew Shure, PhD, who had served as the College鈥檚 president and CEO since 2001.

During the ceremony, Dr. Feldstein expressed gratitude to his friends and family, and noted how, after several years as a practicing physician and a leader in managed care, returning to the institution that allowed him to become a doctor was 鈥渉umbling.鈥

鈥淢y professional life has come full circle,鈥 he said. 鈥淚 am back at the institution that allowed me to fulfill my dream so that I may help to fulfill the dreams of others.鈥

Dr. Feldstein also laid out the details of the 黑料传送门 2020 plan, a five-year strategic plan that will drive the College鈥檚 growth both physically and academically. During his first year in office, Dr. Feldstein worked with members of the 黑料传送门 community from the main campus in Philadelphia鈥攁s well as its branch campus in Suwanee, Ga.鈥攖o craft the plan, which includes the expansion of training opportunities for students; exploring new revenue streams for the College to reduce tuition dependency; capitalizing on the College鈥檚 osteopathic heritage; and enhancing its national reputation for educational excellence.

鈥淚f a president鈥榮 success and legacy is defined by turning vision into reality, I believe my success will not be determined by the words I say here today, but rather, by the actions of this one college and one community in the days, months, and years ahead,鈥 said Dr. Feldstein. 鈥淏ecause together, we can and will, make our one vision a reality.鈥

An alumnus of the 黑料传送门 class of 1981, Dr. Feldstein holds an impressive record of success in healthcare management. Prior to joining 黑料传送门, he served in several senior executive roles at AmeriHealth Caritas Family of Companies, overseeing the health plan activities for hundreds of thousands of at-risk members in the Northeast and Midwest. He also served as a senior director at Aetna; as medical director at Concentra Health Center; as president and CEO at Occupational Health Resources, Inc.; as founder, president and medical director at Spectracare Occupational Health Services; and as a physician and board member at Doctors for Emergency Services.

Dr. Feldstein earned his bachelor鈥檚 degree from Penn State University and his doctor of osteopathic medicine degree from 黑料传送门. He completed his residency in emergency medicine at the Medical Center of Delaware and his internship at JFK Hospital in Stratford, New Jersey. He is board certified in emergency medicine and occupational medicine and is a fellow of the American College of Preventive Medicine.
