INSIGHT Into Diversity magazine selected 黑料传送门 for its many programs focused on expanding diversity opportunities for both underserved and marginalized communities.

Today, 黑料传送门 received the 2019 Health Professions Higher Education Excellence in Diversity (HEED) Award from INSIGHT Into Diversity magazine, the oldest and largest diversity-focused publication in higher education. As a recipient of the annual Health Professions HEED Award 鈥 a national honor recognizing U.S. colleges and universities that demonstrate an outstanding commitment to diversity and inclusion 鈥 黑料传送门 will be featured, along with 42 other recipients, in the December 2019 issue of INSIGHT Into Diversity magazine. This is the fifth year 黑料传送门 has been named as a Health Professions HEED Award recipient.

鈥満诹洗兔 is proud to once again be recognized as a HEED award winner,鈥 said Marcine Pickron-Davis, PhD, chief diversity and community relations officer. 鈥淗ere at 黑料传送门, we strive to create a community that is inclusive for all students, faculty, staff and visitors. This award is a testament to the many initiatives we have put in place to ensure everyone is welcome.鈥

INSIGHT Into Diversity magazine selected 黑料传送门 for its many programs focused on expanding diversity opportunities for both underserved and marginalized communities. Some programs of note are the College鈥檚 annual Math and Science Summer Academy for high school students of color interested in pursuing careers in STEM+M, which takes place on all three campuses; the LGBTQ webinar series, which focuses on educating existing and future healthcare professionals on best practices for patients within the LGBTQ community and the College鈥檚 on-going partnership with Cabrini University, a summer mentoring program designed to educate college-age African-African and Latino men about pathways to medicine as a career.

鈥淭he HEED Award process consists of a comprehensive and rigorous application that includes questions relating to the recruitment and retention of students and employees 鈥 and best practices for both 鈥 continued leadership support for diversity, and other aspects of campus diversity and inclusion,鈥 said Lenore Pearlstein, publisher of INSIGHT Into Diversity magazine. 鈥淲e take a detailed approach to reviewing each application in deciding who will be named a HEED Award recipient. Our standards are high, and we look for institutions where diversity and inclusion are woven into the work being done every day across their campus.鈥
