黑料传送门 will once again partner in the 2017 Philadelphia Science Festival鈥攁n innovative, nine-day celebration that explores the many ways that science and technology touch our everyday lives. A citywide collaboration that runs April 21鈥29, the Festival unites 200 of the region鈥檚 most influential institutions, museums and cultural centers in a common goal.

College faculty will showcase their expertise to educate thousands of Philadelphians at the following events:

Friday, April 21: Science After Hours: Prom, 7 p.m., Franklin Institute 
A team of 黑料传送门 faculty members led by Sarah Allen, PhD, assistant professor, psychology; Denah Appelt, PhD, professor of neuroscience, physiology and pharmacology; Brian Balin, PhD, professor , microbiology and immunology and chair, bio-medical sciences; and Kerin Claeson, PhD, associate professor, anatomy, will be on-hand to discuss their research and knowledge of the brain.

Sunday, April 23: Murder at the Mutter, 2:30 p.m., Mutter Museum
Greg McDonald, DO 鈥89, professor and chair, forensic medicine, will use his expertise to help attendees solve a staged murder during this wildly popular event. (Note: this event is sold out.)

Saturday, April 29: Science Carnival at Penn鈥檚 Landing
Explore the Mega Brain庐, the world's only portable, inflatable, walk-through brain exhibit, and learn about brain form and function from 黑料传送门 faculty and students. The exhibit will be located next to the Independence Seaport Museum.

In addition, Peter Bidey, DO 鈥08, assistant professor, family medicine; Larry Finkelstein, DO 鈥87, associate professor, family medicine; and residents from the 黑料传送门/Suburban Community Hospital Family Medicine residency, took osteopathic manipulative medicine to Citizen鈥檚 Bank Park on April 9, as part of Science at the Ballpark. The event was held as a preview to the main Festival.

Created, organized and led by The Franklin Institute and presented by The Dow Chemical Company, the annual Festival brings science to restaurants, parks, breweries, libraries, museums and other neighborhood places across the city.
