Mega-Match Day for Fourth-Year DO Students

March 22, 2016

Rather than participate in one Match Day (as many allopathic students do), osteopathic medical students can choose to participate in one of three matches: the National Resident Matching Program (which took place March 18); the American Osteopathic Association Intern/Resident Registration Program (which took place Feb. 8); and the Military Graduate Medical Education Match (which took place Jan. 13). With each match, students learn where they will go for their medical residencies after graduating from medical school.

The recently hosted the College鈥檚 first-ever Match celebration at Lucky Strike in Philadelphia, and at Stars and Strikes in Dacula, Georgia, for all students who participated in the various matches, to honor their accomplishments as they launch the next steps in their medical careers. Students were given specially branded 鈥淚 Matched!鈥 t-shirts and celebrated their achievements with bowling, food and various other activities.
