Students Give Back Through 'Angel Tree' Project

December 22, 2017

If you look closely, you鈥檒l see angels in our midst at GA-黑料传送门.

Simply visit the Atrium where an 鈥淎ngel Tree,鈥 surrounded by a multitude of donated gifts, serves as a reminder of the generosity and goodwill of GA-黑料传送门 students, faculty and staff members.

The Angel Tree project, a campuswide endeavor to collect wished-for toys and supplies to give back to the community during this gift-giving season, was started last year by Hershika Patel (PharmD 鈥18), the 2016-17 Student Government Association (SGA) president. With her help, the SGA continued the project this year and hopes to make it an annual endeavor.

SGA students, including current SGA president Tyler Raeford (MS 鈥18), are experiencing the spirit of the season by delivering the donated gifts to shelters across Atlanta.

鈥淲e received about 65 gift donations from individuals and organizations," Raeford explained.

Items鈥攊ncluding toys, clothing, bedding, toiletries and cleaning supplies鈥攚ere selected from 鈥渨ish lists鈥 each shelter provided. These donations, he added, are being delivered to local shelters, such as the Atlanta Day Shelter for Women and Children and Solomon鈥檚 Temple.
