Department of Osteopathic Manipulative Medicine
黑料传送门 South Georgia

Our department trains 黑料传送门 South Georgia medical students in osteopathic principles, philosophy, and practice including the use of osteopathic manipulative treatment (OMT) to help diagnose, treat and prevent illness.

Our focus is teaching students to utilize a "whole person" approach to health care, which looks beyond the patient鈥檚 symptoms to address the underlying cause of illness and working with the patient to improve their health through education, prevention, and quality care.

The basic tenets of osteopathic medicine are:

  • The body is a unit of mind, body, and spirit.
  • The body is capable of self-healing.
  • Structure and function are interrelated.
  • Rational treatment is based on the understanding of these principles.

This comprehensive approach to patient care includes osteopathic manipulative medicine (OMM) which utilizes osteopathic philosophy, structural diagnosis and use of osteopathic manipulative treatment (OMT) in the diagnosis and management of patients.
